Looking back over the year

2024 has been a busy and music-filled year for Creative Peaks. In May we hosted the third edition of our annual music and arts festival, Lost in the Hills; a weekend brimming with music, creativity and inspiration. You can read the full festival write-up here.

We hosted a programme of jam sessions and concerts at the Watts Russell Arms, featuring performances from John Haycock, Family Mozaic, Mavka, Awen Ensemble, the Zawose Queens, Wychbury, Northern Resonance, Trees.R.Good, Fawn Music, NOMAD, R. Loomes and Araya. The series of concerts culminated in a fantastic one-day event, Harvest Moon Fair, on Saturday 14th September, where there were craft stalls, local ales, home cooked food, and music provided by Sijya, Me Lost Me, Vikasati and Sunscuro.

Alongside this, we have been collaborating on a project called A Vibrant Sound and co-curated a programme of multicultural concerts at Dubrek Studios in Derby. This series of concerts featured more jam sessions and performances from: String Beats, Cheng Yu, Raoul Vignal, Elsa Hewitt and Spindle Ensemble, to name a few.

We have also been expanding and working with a selection of other independent venues and music organisations in and around the Peak District, including Third Love Records, Haggler’s Corner in Sheffield and Electric Daisy in Derby.

Watch this space for a programme of multicultural and multidisciplinary events in 2025, coming to a venue near you…
